Les Noces d’eau, performance Paris en Seine, 26 juillet 2025

Un an après les Jeux olympiques, et 100 ans après l’interdiction de baignade dans le fleuve, Paris renoue avec sa Seine dans une mise en scène pleine de sens et de sensibilité. L’événement « Noces d’eau » – initié et écrit par Lala n’est pas un simple spectacle : c’est un acte symbolique, une célébration de la réconciliation entre les Parisiens et leur fleuve, longtemps inaccessible, désormais réinvité dans le quotidien urbain. Le temps d’un soir, la ville épouse son cours d’eau. Tenue blanche conseillée, esprit festif recommandé. Et vous ? Vous êtes les invités de cette noce pas comme les autres.

Imaginée comme une cérémonie rituelle, « Noces d’eau » invite chacun à participer activement à une forme de théâtre sensoriel. Chacun est convié à entrer dans le jeu, à se laisser traverser par le récit, à se reconnecter aux eaux qui nous habitent – métaphoriquement comme physiquement. Au-delà du geste artistique, il y a un message : celui d’un lien à réinventer avec soi, aux autres, à l’ensemble de nos interdépendances. La Seine n’est plus une frontière : elle devient une passerelle émotionnelle, une source d’inspiration, un miroir collectif.

La célébration débute à l’Académie du Climat, ancienne Mairie, site particulièrement approprié pour ce cérémonial. Les invités descendent l’escalier des Degrés pour partager une eau d’honneur, égrainée de discours, témoignages, coups de gueules et moments musicaux. Enfin, une marche nuptiale conduit les participants jusqu’à la Seine, comme un prolongement physique et poétique du rituel amorcé. Une manière de faire corps avec la ville, ensemble, à travers un geste aussi simple que fort : marcher vers l’eau.

Entre théâtre, écologie et poésie, « Noces d’eau » est une invitation à réinvestir notre relation au vivant, au collectif, et à ce fleuve qui traverse Paris autant qu’il nous traverse intérieurement. Un événement rare, à la croisée de l’art et du sens, porté par l’association Watertrek dans le cadre du festival Paris en Seine.

Les Noces d’eau – Paris en Seine Festival

One year after the Olympic Games, and 100 years after the ban on swimming in the river, Paris reconnects with the Seine in a staging full of meaning and sensitivity. The event ‘Noces d’eau’ initiated and written by Lala is not a simple show: it’s a symbolic act, a celebration of the reconciliation between Parisians and their river, unreachable for 102 years and now reintroduced into daily urban life. For one night, the city marries its river. White outfit and festive spirit recommended. What about you? You’re the guests at this unique wedding.

Imagined as a ritual ceremony, Les Noces d’eau invite everyone to actively participate in a form of sensory theater. Everyone is encouraged to play the game, to feel the story run through them, to reconnect with the water inside us – both metaphorically and physically. Beyond the artistic gesture lies a message, that of a connection to be reinvented with oneself, with others, with all our interdependencies. The Seine is no longer a border, it has become an emotional bridge, a source of inspiration, a collective mirror. Exterior and interior come together.

The celebration starts at the Climate Academy, a committed and symbolic location for the ecological renewal of Paris. This place is the former City Hall and a highly suitable venue for this type of ceremony. The guests walk down the “Degrés” staircase to share a “water toast”, punctuated by speeches, testimonials, rants, and musical interludes. Finally, a wedding march leads the participants to the Seine, as a physical and poetic extension of the ongoing ritual. It’s a way to become one with the city, together, through a simple yet powerful gesture: a walk toward the water.

Between theatre, ecology and poetry, Noces d’eau are an invitation to reinvest in our relationship with living things, with the community, and with this river that runs through Paris as it runs through our hearts. This is a unique event, at the junction of art and meaning, to experience standing (almost) in water, and a test format for the association. We’re eager to continue our work in the field of cultural and sensory ecology.
